In 1989, three years after its creation, the group Kali and Dub deserves the title of better reggae group live decreed in Canadian Reggea Music Awards. This electric and prolific mixture with authentic roots of reggae, incorporating elements of jazz, Calypso, hip-hop and even of the rock'n'roll which characterizes the work of the group is worth him to be named Best World Beat Band in Montreal Independent Music Industry Awards in 1995 and 1996 and to be nominated for the best album reggae in Canadian Juno Awards in 1997.
