Singer & Guitarist Craig Kambeitz joined forces with Gerry Patenaude (Guitar), Brent Jones (Bass), and Kyle Jones (percussion) to form the band Acoustic Love in the early 1990s in the small town of Nanaimo, on the east Coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. They released their debut album 'soul shine' independently in 1996, and received some airplay on Christian radio stations. The name of the band is slightly misleading, as electric instrumentation is used throughout the album, and particularly on the instrumental 'Mystique'. The rest of the album is mid-tempo Christian folk, well-played and performed, with excellent production by Rick Salt.
