| This Vinyl is graded NEAR MINT on my grading system. The Cover is graded NEAR MINT on my grading system. This is friendly synthesizer pop, fronted by the emotive, sometimes falsetto vocals of Morten Harket. But it was Harket's looks, as exhibited in the semi-animated video, that sent "Take on Me" to number one in the summer of 1985. The album also contains the follow-up, "The Sun Always Shines on T.V." (number 20). But so far, this million-selling debut is the beginning and end of a-ha as legitimate record makers in the U.S. (In the U.K., in contrast, the album spawned four Top Ten hits, including the title track and "Train of Thought.")
